Box Office
Full training is provided. No previous experience is necessary but experience of using computers and keyboard skills are helpful.
DAY-TIME SHIFTS
Volunteering to operate our Box Office puts you at the heart of the venue and makes you the first point of contact for most of our visitors. Our Box Office opens 10.30am until 5pm Monday to Friday, and 10am until 1pm on Saturdays. Our volunteers take bookings using our computerised ticketing system both over the telephone, online and in person. They also provide information to visitors to the theatre and the resident companies based here. This role provides the broadest overview of our operation and you’ll meet plenty of members of staff, public, customers and clients.
We ask that our Box Office volunteers have good customer service skills and can commit to at least one shift per week to the daytime rota. Shifts are half days either 10.30am-1.30pm or 1.30pm-5pm.
PERFORMANCES SHIFTS
Similar to the daytime volunteers role described above, except that working at performance times, will almost exclusively be dealing with tickets and information for that show and because of the curtain up deadline, can be much busier than during the day.
We do not need such a regular commitment for performance work, although we recommend you keep your hand in with at least one shift per fortnight – to remain up to date with the process. Performances shifts start an hour before the show and ends up to an hour after it starts.
