Coffee Bar
The Coffee Bar is open for all performances (often about 4 a week). Usually working as one of a pair, this volunteer position involves arriving about an hour before the performance to set the coffee bar up (the average shift starts time is 6.30pm). You will need to set out stock, check your float, organise cold drinks, make coffee and generally prepare for business.
The busiest time for the Coffee Bar is during the interval of a performance. Unlike the Wine Bar, we can’t take orders for the interval so staff must be well prepared for the big rush! (A 5 minute warning is normally given). After the interval there is usually quite a lot of clearing up to do, but our dishwasher takes most of the strain!
To do this kind of work you need good customer service skills, a warm and friendly manner, the ability to handle cash and the ability to occasionally work under pressure. You also need to be conscientious about hygiene.
